Join us on September 8, 6-7:30 pm for a virtual, non-partisan debate on the environment held for candidates in University-Rosedale riding.

About this event

100 Debates on the Environment: University-Rosedale, Toronto

Where do the University-Rosedale candidates stand on issues of the environment, a just transition, and national Indigenous healing and reconciliation?

The impacts of climate change are present and intensifying here in Canada: heat domes, wildfires, flooding, drought. The recent report from the IPCC painted a clear picture of a "code red" for humanity -- a call for immediate, emergency action.

Find out what commitments our University-Rosedale candidates are making to create a net zero emissions future, safeguard the environment, build a green and just recovery from COVID-19, and further national Indigenous healing and reconciliation.

This event is part of the pan-Canadian and non-partisan initiative, 100 Debates on the Environment, led by GreenPAC in partnership with Canadian organizations and individuals across the country. The 2021 University-Rosedale debate is hosted by ClimateFastGreen11Trinity St. Paul’s United Church, and the University of Toronto Students’ Union.

Our moderator is Aliénor Rougeot, Program Manager, Climate and Energy, Environmental Defence.

The 2021 Federal Candidates for University-Rosedale are:

  • Chrystia Freeland (Liberal Party)

  • Nicole Robicheau (New Democratic Party)

  • Tim Grant (Green Party)

Note: Attendance unconfirmed for Stephen Taylor (Conservative Party)

Register now for your link to the debate and to let us know what issues you would like to see the candidates address. Your input will help us focus the debate on the environmental concerns that matter to University-Rosedale constituents.

Can’t attend? The recording will be made available after the debate.
