First Nations Data Sovereignty Webinar

Respecting First Nations data sovereignty - what it means and why it matters. Join us for a webinar with the FNIGC to learn more!

About this event

Come and learn about First Nations data sovereignty from the First Nations Information Governance Centre (FNIGC).

The First Nations Information Governance Centre (FNIGC) is an independent, apolitical, and technical non-profit organization operating with a special mandate from the Assembly of First Nations’ Chiefs-in-Assembly. FNIGC envisions that every First Nation will achieve data sovereignty in alignment with its distinct worldview.

The Common Approach, in collaboration with FNIGC, is excited to co-host this webinar. In this one-hour session, Aaron Franks of FNIGC will lead us through a presentation to better understand First Nations data sovereignty and why it matters in today’s context.

The webinar will take place on June 30 2021, from 1:00pm to 2:00 pm EDT.

The Common Approach to Impact Measurement is a community of social purpose organizations, grant makers, investors, academics, software providers and others building a better way to measure social impact. The development of a flexible standard of impact measurement will make it easier for social purpose organizations to do impact measurement and to tell their story using measures that are most meaningful to them.
