David MacMillan, Program Manager with the City of Toronto Public Energy Initiatives, digs into Thermal Energy Networks for Buildings.

We invite you to attend our event "Thermal Energy Networks for Buildings" (District Energy).  Please join us on February 29 at 7:30pm for David MacMillan’s presentation. David is a Program Manager with the City of Toronto’s Public Energy Initiatives.

Thermal energy networks, often called district energy, are one of the most efficient means of delivering climate-friendly heating and cooling. These networks use safe and stable renewable energy that can be derived from sources as diverse as geothermal, wastewater systems, bodies of water, and energy-intensive buildings.

David will:

  • Review the basics of thermal energy networks;

  • Examine local Toronto examples;

  • Discuss the influence of governance & funding on the future of thermal energy networks.

His presentation will be followed by a Q&A.

At the centre of this discussion will be this question: “How can we develop a strategy to make thermal energy networks commonplace?”.
