Table Topics

You know how Table Topics exists to break that taboo of not talking about politics over dinner? We're doing it again but this time we're talking about money. The increasing price of just about everything - food, gasoline, building materials, used cars, computer chips - is another lingering effect of the COVID pandemic. And Canada was already facing a crisis with affordable housing before 2020. Check out our video on that if you need a primer.

Do you feel like you pay too much for rent? Do you think you'll never get a shot at being a homeowner? Have you had to cut back on certain items at the grocery store? Can our governments do anything to relieve the pressure? Let's talk about it!

PS: You can opt out of being included in breakout rooms. Just tick the box when signing up.

PS2: French interpretation will be available.

Special Guests: Coming soon!

How it works

If you're a youth in Canada (30 and under) and want to join us for brunch with a side of democracy, sign up with the form and then hop on our big Zoom meeting on February 6 to join the conversation. A few days before the event, we'll send you an invite to join our DoorDash team so you can get a $20 credit. If you're over 30, you can sign up and come but if we're filled up for the credit, priority will go to younger folks. If you're in an area that is not served by DoorDash but want to participate, reach out to Andrew (calgvote@apathyisboring.com) and Rudia (communications@apathyisboring.com) and we'll make alternate arrangements.
