We are excited to invite you to our Spirit Spaces Un-conference with IBLV DREAMERS Festival!
We hope to create spaces for young leaders & dreamers to connect & vibe, share gifts & knowledge and showcase skills & talents.
When we share our story, we share our power and we initiate a change.
We know what it feels like to be stuck at home craving deeper connections and reasons for celebration.
This event is for young leaders who don't feel invited or supported in the process of leadership and decision-making. Our work aims to identify and empower your gifts and potential.
We’re young leaders ourselves. We've heard stories of young leaders from across the land about leadership and empowerment that inform our work. Shared leadership is key for groups big or small to take on the challenges we face today and tomorrow.

Join Young Leaders Circle for their Spirit Spaces Unconference and Festival with the IBLV Dreamers.
The Spirit Spaces Un-conference and Festival will be a collection of virtual spaces for Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour young leaders in Ontario to bridge communities, virtually. The purpose of these spaces is to build on our individual and shared capacities and deepen relationships for shared work and solidarity in pro-liberation and decolonial work. We understand that this work is done both inwardly, through intergenerational healing, and outwardly, through solidarity work. So this Un-conference will be an amalgamation of the many facets that young people, at any point in their decolonial and liberatory journey, can channel to exchange, learn, and build.
This Un-conference will feature a festival curated by the IBLV DREAMERS collective. This will be a virtual arts festival with creators from all over Ontario. Concerts, poetry readings, visual exhibitions, will be featured in this after the un-conference festival.
Baawating, Tkaronto, Anemki Wekwedong (Thunder Bay)-l three of our hub regions will have hosts for our Un-conference and Festival. We are partnering with Earthling Art Collective, Youth Odena and the IBLV Dreamers to bring dynamic artists to the Festival.
The Spirit Spaces Un-conference will introduce attendees to grassroots youth leaders through different workshops over three weekends that will take on a variety of forms:
Land-based learning in virtual settings
Movement (Yoga, body engagement, dance, etc.)
Arts-based workshops
Healing Spaces (sharing ancestral healing practices)
Activism
Conversations spaces (QTBIPOC Discussion Groups, Indigenous Youth Discussion Group, Black Femme healing space, etc.)
And Much More!
More details to come!

If you are new to our journey, or haven’t reconnected in a while;
Who are we?
Young Leaders Circle (YLC) a grassroots group, based in Ontario, that aims to empower and facilitate organizing strategies amongst Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour young leaders.
“As racialized and Indigenous young people who have worked within bureaucratic governance structures, and in community organizations, we saw a more natural way of organizing utilizing our different lived experiences and worldviews. For the past year, we have been experimenting with a model for governance (decision-making) we call Spirit Spaces.”
What is a Spirit Space?
“The purpose of Spirit Spaces is to divide the work that needs to be done and support each other as a whole. When we feel burnout and people leave, we don’t want the memory of that work leaving with them, we don’t want everything to fall on one person’s shoulders. These Spaces are different areas that go into organizing community work, and they help us carry the work while supporting and communicating with one another. We are constantly learning, unlearning and relearning how to engage with each other and the work considering our different cultures, capacities and communities.”
Dates: May 14-16, 21-23, 28-30
