TVO workers are fighting for better wages, job security, and better public services. These workers include journalists, producers, media workers, and teachers and education workers who produce and deliver online content for Ontario’s education curricula in schools across the province.
As members of the Canadian Media Guild (CMG) at TVO (TV Ontario), they have been at the bargaining table for months, but the Employer is digging in its heels.
Like all workers, TVO workers are fighting a worsening cost-of-living crisis. Their fight for decent work at TVO would mean better services for viewers, Ontario’s students, and the wider public.
On August 18, TVO workers will be in a legal strike position. They are calling upon the Government of Ontario, the Ministry of Education, and the Employer to do what’s right: pay these workers what they deserve and ensure that TVO jobs are good jobs.
