ROSA LUXEMBURG - REFORM OR REVOLUTION
a Toronto East International Socialists online Study Group
Introduction by Brian Champ, community activist and TorEast IS member
In 1900 Rosa Luxemburg wrote Reform or Revolution to defend the revolutionary core of Marxism against some socialists who argued for focusing only on reforms.
How do revolutionaries relate to struggles for reform?
How does the fight for reforms influence the revolutionary process?
These tensions exist in all social movements today, from the rebellion for Black Lives, Indigenous sovereignty struggles, workers' strike action and the fight for climate justice.
Luxemburg's arguments on the dialectical interplay between reform and revolution remain relevant to this day.
