Next week on February 24, Ottawa City Council will debate a motion opposing radioactive waste dumps at Chalk River next to the Ottawa River, our primary source of drinking water. Who is in charge of these plans? How much radioactive waste will go into the dump? What are the implications for communities all along the Ottawa River? Why have so many municipalities passed motions opposing these plans? What can you do?

Your questions will be answered in an online "Town Hall" on February 18 at 7pm. The event will be held over Zoom; the access link will be distributed to participants by email the day of the event.

Sponsored by the Council of Canadians, Ottawa Chapter
