In April of this year, as an existentially dangerous war raged in Ukraine, I embarked on a journey to Russia to meet with students, academics, members of civil society, journalists and diplomats. My purpose in going to Russia was to help in any way I can to generate a dialogue between Canadians and Russians, because without dialogue, there can be no peace. Upon my return to Canada, peace groups from across the country (including People for Peace London) asked me to conduct a national speaking tour to share my experiences with Canadians and to generate a discussion about how to bring an end, by peaceful means, to the devastating war in Ukraine. My cross-country speaking tour begins on June 19 in my hometown of London, Ontario. If you live in the London area, I invite you to join us.
I will also speak at events in Hamilton (June 20), Toronto (June 21), Winnipeg (June 22), Regina (June 23), Vancouver (June 26), Victoria (June 27), Montreal (June 29), Halifax (June 30), Fredericton (July 2) and Ottawa (July 3).
Peace, Dimitri
