About the speaker:

Halyna Zalucky - The Roots Collaborative

Halyna Zalucky is a sustainable consultant and founder of The Roots Collaborative (TRC). TRC is a not for profit cooperative that works with business and communities to promote environmental, social, economic and personal well-being. In 2017, Halyna developed and oversaw the implementation of the Home Energy Savings Initiative (HESI) an eight-month project which educated residents on home energy conservation. Following HESI, Halyna worked with the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority in administering the Harvest the Rain project, which is a home retrofit program for single-family homes in the Black Creek community. Halyna further led a series of consultations in partnership with colleagues at Transition Toronto which resulted in the creation of the GH6 project. GH6 seeks to train and employ young people and newcomers as home energy advisors. Since COVID, the project has been put on hold but we aspire to launch in 2021!
