Intersections in Climate Change: Environmental Justice in Canada

A short story reading and panel discussion on environmental justice in Canada

About this event

This month, the Peel Environmental Youth Alliance, People Planet Pages Book Club, Books Art Music Collective, EnviroMuslims and The Community Climate Council will host a panel discussion with guest speakers who will highlight systemic issues related to environmental injustices among marginalized communities in Canada.

We will begin the event with three youth authors showcasing their work from "Our Climate Our Stories," a compilation of essays, stories, and poems written by Black, Indigenous, and youth of colour from Canada. Click here to access the full text. Next, we will have a panel with the three authors along with Cheyenne Sundance, founder of Sundance Harvest and Christopher Wilson, Vice President of the Coalition of Black Trade Unionists. The panel will discuss contributing factors to intersectional environmentalism and explore potential actions to create green, just communities.
