Heat Pumps Unveiled

Climate Action Richmond Hill with the support of the City of Richmond Hill, will host a meeting, both virtually and in-person, to support the municipality’s target of “switching all existing residential buildings to heat pumps” by 2050.

Learn more about these targets by reading Richmond Hill's Path to a Low-Carbon Future (particularly pages 24-30). Please note that meeting the City’s climate targets has a predicted cumulative value of avoided climate damage of over $12 billion (page 42). Much of this value will be accumulated by homeowners.

Expect:

  • information about the pros and cons of heat pumps and how they work from our speaker

  • time to ask questions from experts and municipal representatives

  • to learn about available rebates and incentives for green retrofitting

Keynote Speaker: Erik Janssen, a Research Scientist with the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority

Municipal Information Source: Myles O’Brien, Environment Education and Engagement Coordinator, City of Richmond Hill

Panelists: Sarah Grant, President and Co-Founder of Goldfinch Energy / Bob McKeraghan, President of Canco ClimateCare, / Marta Ecsedi, Homeowner

For more details and up-to-date information about the webinar, please see the Neighbours for the Planet website.

PLEASE NOTE THAT SPACE WILL BE LIMITED IN BOTH THE IN-PERSON AND ONLINE VENUES
