Around the world, citizens' assemblies are driving change on the toughest issues.

The biggest citizens assembly in the world is about to begin: The Global Assembly on climate. What can we learn from their journey as we continue to champion a National Citizens' Assembly on Electoral Reform for Canada?

Join us for a webinar with an organizer from the Global Assembly, co-sponsored by Make Votes Matter, the campaign for proportional representation in the United Kingdom!

Presentation by Richard Wilson (main presenter): A member of the core team for the Global Assembly.

Guest panelists:

Elizabeth May: Canadian Green Party MP and Green Parliamentary Leader Elizabeth May has championed proportional representation for decades. Elizabeth served on the federal Electoral Reform Committee in 2016. The Green Party's 2019 election platform called for a National Citizens' Assembly on Electoral Reform, an initiative also advocated for by current Green Party leader Annamie Paul.

Klina Jordan: Lifelong environmental activist and Co-Chief Executive of Make Votes Matter UK. Make Votes Matter is also calling for a Citizens' Assembly on Electoral Reform as part of the path to proportional representation in the United Kingdom. Read Klina's piece in the Guardian.

Natalie Bennett: Former Leader of the Green Party of England and Wales and current member of the House of Lords. Natalie formerly worked as a journalist for the Telegraph, Times, Independent an as editor of the Guardian Weekly. Natalie is a strong supporter of the citizens' assemblies.
