ARTivism Challenge

We’re excited to announce the Water Docs ARTivism Challenge! 🎨🖌💧We’re inviting artists and art-lovers to help spread awareness about the importance of water and climate.

The climate crisis and water issues are deeply connected. We’ve designed three creative prompts to educate, build community, and celebrate our blue planet. There are no limits to who can participate and what art they can join the challenge with. Hobbyist, professional, first-time art maker, photographer, painter, digital artist and anyone in between, we can’t wait to see what you create!
How anyone can join this challenge:

💧 Create art entries relating to the following prompts

Aug 8 - A Warming World: Water and Climate
Aug 15 - Making Waves: Action to Protect Water and Climate
Aug 22 - Water is Life: Interconnection

💧 Post your art on Instagram or Facebook and tag us in your post and use our hashtag so we can see your wonderful art. Be sure to include some info in the caption like what prompt you used or details about the work itself.

Instagram and Facebook - @waterdocsfilmfestival | Hashtag - #WaterDocsARTivism

You’re also encouraged to use the hashtag #Artivism to connect your work with a larger environmental community

More details

There are no time restrictions on this challenge. The dates are meant to act as a guide but you’re welcome to create and post your art at any time now or even a few months from now. We know art can take time, so no pressure!

You don’t have to make art for all the prompts. Only inspired to make art based off the Water is Life prompt, just do that one and feel free to start anytime. No need to wait until the 22nd!

As a registered charity, we cannot provide any monetary compensation for your participation, however, we will certainly share your accredited contributions with our thousands of followers, newsletter readers and feature some works on our website. We may have an opportunity to showcase your works at our annual film festival coming up in the fall.
