Film and Discussion: Civil disobedience for the environment – when is it justified?

Monday, October 7, 2013 - 7:00pm to 9:00pm

St. Michael & All Angels Church (south east corner of St. Clair and Wychwood, enter from Wychwood through wooden gates, come up to 2nd floor)

Join us for a screening of the film, Bidder 70: This is What Hope Looks Like. The film tells the story of Tim De Christopher's act of civil disobedience against the U.S. government and the oil and gas industry, an act that, while saving a prime piece of wilderness, earned him two years in a federal prison. Stay for a discussion of civil disobedience in the context of climate change and the ongoing fight against pipelines from the Tar Sands.
