Invitation to Plan Environmental Community Event

Tuesday, February 2, 2016 - 7:00pm

Toronto, ON

We're a group of local citizens against Enbridge's Line 9 tar sands oil pipeline because it threatens the waterways and safety of Toronto residents. We recognize that it does not have the consent of the Indigenous nations whose land it cuts through and name that as an injustice.

We're planning a festival this spring* to raise awareness within the communities it affects most and to work toward safety and justice. We want as many local community members (individuals or organizations) involved in its planning as possible. The planning team requires a diversity of experiences and talents to organize. The team will be coordinating the efforts to invite artists, to make the event accessible and respectful, to plan the schedule, seek funding, etc.

Our next meeting is Tuesday, February 2. Please RSVP folktheline@gmail.com if you are interested so we can get a sense of numbers and share further details. We encourage you to share this with any peers within your network(s) who may have an interest in being involved.

Let's keep up the momentum for a world rich in reciprocal relationships!
