Please join us for the launch of a Discussion Group on Naomi Klein’s new book, This Changes Everything.
In what The Globe’s reviewer called “a work of startling force, exhaustive reporting and telling anecdote,” Klein argues that we can solve the climate crisis only by giving up the quest for big profits and endless growth and rebuilding local economies and democracies. Klein reminds us, in the words of another reviewer, “that hope lies in ordinary people looking at the way the world is going and then deciding to do something about it themselves.”
Is Naomi Klein right? If so, what are the implications, and how can we put her ideas into action? These will be the questions guiding our discussion.
For our first meeting on December 8, we’ll focus on the Introduction and Chapters 1 and 2. Please read these sections ahead of time. We’ll also decide on plans and readings for future meetings.
