The Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) is a dangerous, costly and outdated "free trade" deal that focuses primarily on such issues as how governments regulate corporate activity, how long pharmaceutical patents or copyright terms should be, how the Internet is governed, and how companies are compensated when environmental policies interfere with their profits.

The TPP threatens the things we care about: climate action, affordable medicine, and a strong democracy that works for the people.

About the Speaker
Steven Shrybman is a reconstructed hog farmer from the prairie hinterland who now practices public interest and international trade law in Ottawa and Toronto.  He has been at the forefront of some of the more important public policy and legal battles to defend and promote the public interest in the face of corporate globalization and neo-liberal policies of privatization, de-regulation and free trade.

Presented by The Council of Canadians (Toronto) & Reel Activism at Beit Zatoun.
