Cross-Canada climate change launch: Crowd-fund launch and 6-month anniversary for not-for-profit Our Horizon.
A new environmental organization with a globally-unprecedented approach to climate change launched just 6 months ago in Toronto. Since then, we've been in media coast-to-coast and around the world. The idea of warning labels on gas pump nozzles has now entered the public realm. Come join us to get an update, celebrate our successes and learn our game plan for the next 6 months of 2013.
Students in Toronto have made hundreds of warning labels and are committing to speak at City Hall when our by-law is tabled this December. Getting youth to the microphone to speak for their future is how this law will be passed. So, this fall, we will be taking our workshop to the road to inspire people across Canada to advocate for our idea in their own communities. We will also be collecting thousands of youth-designed warning labels from coast-to-coast to cover the walls of a gallery when we return to Toronto. We will then be inviting media and politicians into the space so they will know that youth across Canada are ready to #FaceTheChange.
***We've been able to bring things this far on a shoe-string budget and will need your support to get the word out to make this cross-Canada tour a success.***
