Chasing Ice was the winner of the Peoples Choice Award at Hot Docs 2012
Acclaimed photographer James Balog deploys revolutionary time-lapse cameras to capture a multi-year record of the world’s changing glaciers. His hauntingly beautiful videos compress years into seconds and capture ancient mountains of ice in motion as they disappear at a breathtaking rate.
Traveling with a team of young adventurers across the brutal Arctic, Balog risks his career and his well-being in pursuit of the biggest story facing humanity.
After the film finishes (approximately 80 minutes) there will be a discussion about the work of Citizens Climate Lobby in Toronto.
This is the only currently scheduled screening for Chasing Ice in Toronto this spring. This is Citizens Climate Lobby's first Toronto fundraiser. Please invite your friends and family because the capacity for this venue is 300+ people and we want to reach as many people as possible!
Tickets are $12 and can purchased in advance via Eventbrite (http://cclchasingice.eventbrite.ca/)
All Proceeds from this event will help subsidize local volunteer members to travel to Washington DC for Creating a Climate for Change - Citizens Climate Lobby's conference lobbying days in Washington, DC in June.
